The Litchfield Public Library serves approximately 12,000 residents of the City of Litchfield and the surrounding rural area of Meeker County, Minnesota. The 24,300 residents of Meeker County are also served by libraries in Cosmos, Dassel, and Grove City.  The Library is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees and has six permanent staff members. Litchfield Public Library is a member of the Pioneerland Library System, a consolidated system of 31 libraries in south central Minnesota.  

The mission of Pioneerland Library System is to make the world of knowledge and ideas accessible to the communities we serve by providing a diverse range of  resources for their educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs.
