Summer Reading

Please encourage your children to sign up to participate in summer reading. It will help to keep their reading skills sharp. Teachers told me this week that students can lose as much as 20-25 % of what they have learned during the school year if they don’t read at all during the summer.

Check out the June 3rd news fore details.

The summer reading program is for young people ages 3 through 17.

A full schedule of programs for younger children begins June 9th with:

  • Toddler Time on Wednesdays,

  • Thursday afternoons at 3 p.m. are reserved for children in grades K-5 with Fun with 4-H, Summer Vacation Book Club, and special guests.  The book club title for June is the very funny book,  How to Be a Pirate, by Cressida Cowell.

  • Family Story Time on Thursday evenings,

  • Preschool Story Time on Friday mornings.
