Adult Computer Classes

No classes are scheduled during the summer months.  We anticipate another class beginning in September.  Call the library at 693-2483 and reserve your place in the class.  Classes will be scheduled for September, November and January, March and May.  Invite your friends as we have room for 12 students and would prefer a minimum of 8 to hold a class.

Classes are held each Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to 10 AM during the month in which they are scheduled .  There are typically 8 sessions to each class.  There is NO CHARGE for these classes.  The purpose is to encourage more people to learn the value that computers can add to their lives.

These classes are intended for those that desire to learn the very basics about computers and to prepare them to take the advanced classes at Community Ed.

On Tuesdays you will learn the basics of computers and what to look for when buying a computer.  You will learn the essentials of maintaining the computer and protecting it from viruses and malware.  We cover the use of Windows Explorer and various Windows operations.  The Tuesday classes are mostly lecture in which you are introduced to activities on a computer that you cannot do on library computers.

The Thursday classes cover hands on activities in which you will learn the basics of using the internet and various programs such as a word processor.
