Litchfield Chamber Of Commerce
Under the leadership of the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce and our community partners, we promote collaboration on growing our region's economy.
Our efforts will improve our community's economic vitality by 1) Encouraging companies to remain and expand, 2) Establishing stronger ties between private sector companies and their business advocates, and 3) Recommending community and public-sector responses to the trends affecting the development of the region's economy.

Grow Minnesota! Business Retention & Expansion
The Chamber conducts regular focus groups with members from our major industry sectors: manufacturing, health care, agriculture, retail and financial services. We recognize that the economic vitality of our community is largely due to the success of each of these sectors and provide programs and services that address each groups’ unique requirements.
Each year staff and volunteers conduct face-to-face visits with targeted businesses within Meeker County to encourage them to remain and expand in Minnesota. During these visits, we listen to employers' concerns and opinions, help them solve problems, and gather valuable input to shape our public policy and programming activities. Grow Minnesota! is a private-sector effort to retain and expand the state's business base. The program is collaboration between the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, and 45 chambers statewide. The primary focus of the program is to retain Minnesota businesses and encourage them to expand and grow within the state.

Downtown Commercial Historic District
The Litchfield Commercial Historic District encompasses most of the central business district. The majority of the buildings face Sibley Avenue, the community's downtown commercial thoroughfare which runs north and south through the center of town.
The district is comprised of 48 properties located on five city blocks along Sibley Avenue. There are 36 contributing buildings, 10 non-contributing buildings and two non-contributing sites (vacant lots). Most of the buildings in the district are two-story, brick commercial buildings that were built between circa 1882 and circa 1940. At least 15 of them were constructed of cream-colored brick which was manufactured at Litchfield. Most of the buildings have stone foundations.
About half of the buildings (24) were built before circa 1900. Fourteen were built between circa 1900 and 1930, four were built between circa 1930 and 1945, and four represent post-World War II infill construction.
Litchfield has a wealth of beautiful historic buildings that architecturally reflect the pride and grandeur that is the foundation of the community. Through its Downtown Commercial Historic District Committee, the Chamber and City are researching the advantages of owning real estate within a commercial historic district, the process for establishing a Certified Local Government (CLG) and programs available for property owners in the district.
Meeker County Development Corporation
The Meeker County Economic Development Corporation (MCDC) provides programs to assist businesses in the region.
Its mission is to promote retention, expansion and attraction of businesses within Meeker County.
MCDC also provides businesses technical assistance in local and state incentives.
