Meeker County, Minnesota, is located approximately one hour west of Minneapolis, and our population is approximately 23,250, covering 610 square miles. Government offices are housed in the County Courthouse, the Family Services Center, the County Highway/MN DOT Transportation Facility, and the Law Enforcement Center in the county seat of Litchfield.
We are home to some of the state’s largest dairy and poultry operations as well. Our residential population is steadily growing with many new development and housing projects in the works. We also offer excellent health care facilities including the Meeker County Memorial Hospital, which is also located in Litchfield.
Meeker County Economic Development Authority serves the communities of Cedar Mills, Cosmos, Darwin, Dassel, Eden Valley, Grove City, Kingston, Litchfield, Mannannah and Watkins.
